Open Book Peace Project -
December 1, 2005 - January 14, 2006 Exhibition

The Open Book Peace Project makes its first visit to the Southwest part of the United States at the Paper Studio. This traveling exhibition invites individuals to express their idea about peace, through drawing and writing, hand papermaking and bookmaking. Artist and founder of the project, Catherine Trzybinski, says that "By listening and talking to each other, perhaps we can find new ways to cultivate peace. Since the inception of OBPP in 2003, over 1,000 individuals have contributed a page to the book. The pages contain writings in English, Spanish, Arabic, Russian, Japanese and German as well as illustrations in pen and ink, pencil and brush and hand carved stamps. By building a book of possibilities, the book aims to inspire people to see beyond the limits of accepted wisdom and redefine the possibilities for peace."
